I am looking for a practical answer to this UPSC question: Which NCERT is better for UPSC CSE preparation, old or new?

I am trying to avoid collecting too many resources, so please suggest only the books or material that genuinely helped. It would also help if you mention how to revise them effectively.

I would keep the source list much tighter than what most online lists suggest. One standard source per subject and repeated revision is usually enough.
