I am looking for a practical answer to this UPSC question: Why many toppers of UPSC recommended to read old NCERT and what is difference between old and new, what I will do if I don't find old NCERT? Where to collect old NCERT or NCERT?

I am trying to avoid collecting too many resources, so please suggest only the books or material that genuinely helped. It would also help if you mention how to revise them effectively.

I would keep the source list much tighter than what most online lists suggest. One standard source per subject and repeated revision is usually enough.
