I am trying to understand this college-related question properly before making a decision: How does a prospective undergrad decide between CMI and ISI? Both the institutes are reputed for mathematics. What are the advantages/disadvantages of choosing one over the other?

If anyone is studying there, has graduated recently, or seriously researched this option, please share honest details about academics, campus environment, faculty support, fees, and overall student experience.

If you are confused between CMI and ISI, compare these points side by side:
- how focused the curriculum is
- whether you want research depth or broader flexibility
- internship and placement direction
- campus culture and peer group
- how sure you already are about your subject

That is the part I would double-check before taking any strong opinion seriously.
For a student who already knows the exact subject they want, a specialised institute can be a better experience than a broader brand. For someone still exploring, the broader ecosystem often feels safer.

That is usually the point where personal fit becomes more important than brand value.
