Optional selection becomes much easier once you stop chasing trends and start checking interest, syllabus comfort, and material availability honestly.

That is usually where preparation starts feeling more manageable.

I would shortlist an optional only after checking:
- can I stay with this subject for a long cycle
- do the PYQs feel readable
- is there enough guidance and evaluation help
- does the subject suit my strengths

That small shift alone can save a lot of time.
